So now that you’ve seen the after let’s
go ahead and take it back to the beginning to see what I started on. Now this is my
braid pattern you guys ask me in every single video pretty much what braid
pattern I have going on and 85% of my crochet hairstyles this is what’s going
on up another braids. I have these straight back braids and my hang time is
here. Now I’m gonna show you how I sew up that hanging time but first let me show
you what products I’m going to be using throughout this install. So for this I’m
going to need rubber bands. Of course some scissors. Of course a weaving
needle and you guys have probably seen this at every beauty supply store. Just a
curved needle. As well as some thread for said needle. As well as a crochet needle
and last but not least of course I’m using the Trendy Tresses Goddess
curls today. So this is what I start with all the time. My hang time is right
here and this is where the rubber bands weaving needle and thread all come into
play. So as you can see I’m rubber banding my hang time at the top and at
the bottom. Then I am wrapping it around itself. Then I come in with the needle
and thread and basically just sew that thing up. I’m just sewing it down. I sew
it down several times and I’m going to admit a lot of the times it is difficult
to kind of take this ball out because of the way I’m threading it. I thread it in no
particular fashion. It’s just kind of a random mosh posh of threading. But this is how I always do it. So if you guys ever wonder what my hair is doing up under
the crochet hair this is it. So then once I have it sewn down to my desired liking
that’s when the fun part starts. The installation. Now as soon as I took this
hair out the pack I was very much so intrigued by how soft it was. It’s the
softest air that I’ve tried on this channel point blank period. Now whether I think that’s a good thing or a bad thing make sure you check out my review video
to see my full thoughts. But as I was separating the
hair you guys can notice if you watch this video it it takes a lot. It takes a lot.
Some of the strands do come apart and I’m gonna be quite honest with you guys
it was not the easiest hair that I’ve ever installed. I probably will not if I
ever get this hair installed if I ever do a trendy tresses hair again I won’t
install it myself because it was one of you longest installs. You have to be
meticulous with separating this hair out. But as I go through you guys will see
what I mean. So if you guys notice with that very first strand I only double
knotted I realized very early on double knotting was not going to be sufficient
with this hair. This hair requires at least 4 to 5 to 6 knots. It’s a very soft
hair. I realized after the first couple of times that this hair was too soft to do
anything less than 3 knots to be honest. Which adds to the time that I
took with this hair and the install which added to why I feel like this install
was a very long install. So the hair is very soft and you’re not gonna get away
with just doing less than 3 knots. I’m going to continue this process throughout my hair.
So just putting the needle through my real hair. Attaching the crochet hair to
the needle pulling it through and then knotting it between four to six times. Now this hair as you can see from my
face was a very frustrating install. Now I thought Freetress Deep Twist was a difficult hair to separate and then this hair came through and stole that
difficult to separate crown. Now a lot of hair was lost during this and stuff. A
lot of hair sadly did not make it into my head and I’ll insert a picture right
now of all the hair that went to the wayside. R.I.P hair so I say all this to say if this is your first time ever installing
a crochet hair. I don’t think this would be the hair that you would start off
with. I do not believe that this hair should be your go-to first time ever
install. I would say definitely stick someone more pre-loop style just to ease
your way into crochet hair world. So this is how much
hair I lost just doing one pack. Just doing one pack of hair. So I’m moving on
to pack two. But a lot got done with one pack surprisingly. This is one pack of
hair in my head right now. And on the site they claim that three to four packs
does a full hair. I do end up using four packs of this hair. They only sent me
four packs or this here. So I had to use four packs. I think I might have done
well with maybe having a fifth pack simply because I did lose a lot of hair
during this process. But four to three three to four packs is what Trendy
Tresses says you need for a full install. Now as you can see in terms of
knotting I am NOT doing any special knots when it comes to the front of my hair. I
know a lot of times people say do invisible knots at the top. To be honest
one I don’t feel like I needed too. Two I had spent forever alone just installing
this hair. I’d say over an hour and a half if not two hours just installing the
hair. Not the braiding portion. Installing the hair. It was a very long install. It was
very hot. This just took a lot out of me. So to be honest I wasn’t even gonna do
any fancy knots at the top and most of the time I don’t do fancy knots at the
top of my hair. So this is what the hair looks like freshly installed and nothing
done. Hasn’t t been cut. Hasn’t been manipulated. Of course I’m gonna take
some scissors to it just to kind of shape it up a little bit for my first
day thoughts portion of the video. But yes this is what it looks like and like
I said I used 4 packs. And you guys are probably like it looks very full for four
packs. There are just some spots in the back you guys would not be able to see
it that I just feel like I could have used a little bit extra hair. Like I said
to the naked eye and to anybody off the streets they would not notice but of
course you notice things that others don’t. So yes this has been my install on
the trendy tresses goddess curl in the color 1b 33. Now this is just my install
video. You know your girl Lia Lavon can’t do a video without doing a review video
and I’m doing that separately. So if you want to check out my review video where
I go in-depth telling you my honest opinion on this hair make sure you stay locked. You stay subscribed to my channel.
Make sure you have that notification bell on so you know when it’s coming. Make sure you’re following me on Instagram at lialavon89 and I will see you in my
next video. Thank you so much for watching! Bye!

  1. Hi Lia, I see youโ€™re back at it again. Try mousse first prior to pulling the hair and prep strands prior to installation. It will help with a quicker installation process.

  2. Can you try the curlkalon hair? I can not find the Jamaican bouce but I can seem to find the curlkalon hair. Thanks

  3. You've done it again Lia! I love this hair! And yes that hang time is looking health ๐Ÿ‘Œ๐Ÿพ and I love the color of the hair!

  4. Luv dis hair!!!!๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜ great vid… I hope to try this hair later on this year. probably around the Fall because I live in South Alabama, right along the beach and it is burning hot! ๐ŸŒž=๐Ÿ”ฅround here & ain't nobody got time to be passing out in the street!!! much too hot for my sexy curly styles right now…but I got plans hunty ๐Ÿ˜‰

  5. Btw….I am currently wearing the Sassy Curl from Afri…I installed it Sunday.
I want to love it, because the curl pattern is everything! However, the frizz is real and Iโ€™m taking it out tonight. I hope you have a better experience. Im going for a tighter curl.. any suggestions? I am a Freetress water wave fan, but would like to branch out with my tighter coils! Thx!

  6. Girl the look on your face!! ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚ did you spray with oil sheen before you separated? That works miracles.

  7. Thank you for always being so honest, the hair looks good on you though. What color is your nail polish ๐Ÿ’…๐Ÿพ love the color oh and brand? Thx!!!!

  8. Hi Lia!! This hair looks beautiful or I should say this hair looks beautiful on you! Where did you get your t-shirt and what size do you have it in if you don't mind me asking?

  9. Off topic but I just bought presto curl after watching your video. How was that install and how many knots?

  10. Great video .I'm not impressed with trendy tresses can you but I would like u to try Lulutress and give your thoughts. And also you natural hair looks fantastic. What products do you use on your natural hair

  11. Hey Lia! Canโ€™t wait until you give the review on this hair. You look beautiful as always ๐Ÿ˜‰โค๏ธ

  12. Commenting before I even watch cuz I was literally searching your page for a video using Trendy tresses!! Thank you Lia for coming thru again lol

  13. Reminds of that lulutress Bohemian fiasco I encountered recently lol. Still looks pretty on you and glad you made work.

  14. I'm wearing the river curl and I've had it in about 6 weeks now. Only used water with a little bit of conditioner. I absolutely love this hair. Thank you for the review. Hopefully you will have a better experience with the river curls if you try them.

  15. I do not care for the trendy tresses brand. I have installed goddess and river curls. The hair was DIFFICULT to installed and a lot of hair went in the trash. It doesn't knot easily. It costed me $105 for 6 bags.

  16. Have always loved watching ur channel!! Youโ€™ve inspired so many of my personal crotchet hairstyles (some of which you can see on my videos haha)!!!

  17. trendy tresses is really coming through with these curly styles ๐Ÿค” i canโ€™t decide which to get first !๐Ÿ˜‚

  18. You can minimize losing so much hair by placing the bundle of hair in warm water and then separating it while it is damp/wet. That will prevent you from losing so much hair.

  19. Hi. I love your videos. I was glad to see someone else has trouble at times trying to separate the hair. I thought it was just me.

  20. I watched your video and for the first time ever did my own hair! I did the no cornrow version, to my surprise I did a pretty good job. Everyone thought my hairdresser did it, even a guy complimented he liked my hair.๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚
My hairdresser has been doing my hair for quite some time, so it was kind of heartbreaking to tell her I'm going to do it on my own. It's going to save me so much money I can put towards other things in the future. Thanks so much for teaching me.๐Ÿ’œ๐Ÿ’œ๐Ÿ’œ๐Ÿ’œ I used the soft dreads by African something. ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚ I like it short. I've had it in for a month so far, I do have to stay on top of snipping the edges but not too bad.

  21. Answers to frequently asked questions. I bought my top from Amazon for $10. I added the link to my bio. Also my review video will be up next week โค๏ธโค๏ธ

  22. Hi Lia, have u ever crochet braids and leave some of your own hair out in the front, if so do u have any videos of it ? Btw thank you for been so informative In your videos .

  23. Ooh… YeahNO.
Of COURSE you make it look good! But still no. Too frizzy, too uncontrolled, weird texture. Compared to Mane Concept or even Outre โ€” NUH UH. It looks like it would mat up, shed and just be highhhhh maintenance โ€” like one of those hairs you finish installing and then almost instantly want to take out because you know itโ€™s never really going to be right (this happened to me last month at 1 oโ€™clock in the morning โ€” UUUUGH).
    Good try, though, Trendy Tresses.

  24. Let me start out by saying your natural hair is soooooooooo beautiful! Don't take this the wrong way I just think you are used to hair that is looped. The trendy tresses hair appear to be a way better quality you just have to be used to working with bulk type hair like this. I have seen most of your videos and you are hilarious. I do love your honesty. I just think you didn't have much patience with the hair and were not used to using it. I have never used it personally but I don't really use looped hair because it requires no effort just loop and go. You really looked good in the hair and I am sorry you lost so much hair. I look forward to your next venture. Stay blessed! P.S. I am ordering the black girl magic shirt from Amazon as we speak. Thanks

  25. My beautician installed this hair last night. This is sooooo much easier to separate and install that freetress deepwave. Using the freetress hair it too several hours, but with ready tresses we only used 2 packs of hair. I split each bag into 16-20ths… I moussed it down and sprayed it lightly with oil sheen. Iโ€™ll be back to update you guys later.

  26. OMG…Lol..I LITERALLY think of the same questions.๐Ÿค”Everytime I re-do my hair.Im so glad I'm able to research yr page for questions!!??๐Ÿ˜
