Step 6: Gliding While Swimming | Swim Training with AquaMobile


Welcome to AquaMobile’s 6th video in our learn to swim series! Today we’re learning how to glide! Woah! You guys came prepared! Who are you dressed as? Superman! Awesome! Well, that’s perfect for today! We are going to learn our Superman glides! So it’s awesome that you guys are all ready! We got our Superman arms all stretched out and ready to fly into the water! But first, let’s make sure Superheroes are always safe right? They’re keeping everyone safe! Yeah! So, what are some pool rules – What are some ways to stay safe? No running on deck, no diving in shallow water? Perfect! Sebastian and Victor, you guys look ready to swim! Let’s get in the water and learn our Superman glide! To start learning the Superman glide on our front, let’s learn the Superman song! Stretch your arms if you wanna glide, stretch your arms if you wanna glide Glue your legs straight glides are great, get ready to Superman glide 1,2,3,4, and Glide To start off, we can use the noodle to learn front glides Push off and keep your legs together straight out behind you, without the noodle, make sure your arms are straight out in front at the surface of the water. Glide with your face in the water between your arms like you’re looking right down to the bottom Great! Now let’s try pencil glides on our back! This time we’re looking up. Keep your head back, and push off the wall keeping your legs straight again! But this time, your arms stay right by the side of your body I think we’re ready to add kicking, so we can go even farther, let’s start again with the Superman glide! We learned all about the proper way of kicking in the previous video, so we can use those skills with your glides Push off to start gliding, and remember to keep your face in the water, blowing bubbles while you kick at the surface of the water with straight legs and pointed toes Those are some awesome Superman glides! Let’s add kicking to our pencil glides! Hold on to the edge of the pool, give yourself a big push off the wall to start the pencil glide. Remember to keep your head back and keep your tummy up So you stay afloat! Great work Sebastian and Victor! Let’s learn Side Glides! When you glide on your side, put one arm right in front of you with your ear on your shoulder on the water, and the other arm glued to your side Make sure you’re facing the wall of the pool so you stay on your side Start with a glide and then underkick Side glides are an important step of learning the front crawl and to really swim so keep practicing! Let’s practice our Superman glides some more with a race! Stretch your arms if you wanna glide! Stretch your arms if you wanna glide! Glue your legs, straight glides are great! Get ready to Superman glide! 1, 2, 3, 4, and Go! Well, you guys did great today! So keep practicing those Superman glides, your pencil glides on your back, and your side glides, so one day we can put them all together In different ways to learn how to swim. You guys did really great, and this is going to help you a lot in the next lesson. Trust me! Great job to you guys! That was awesome work on your Superman glides! I’ll see you next time! Fly away!
