South Korea clinches first medal in 2018 Paralympics


South Korea has clinched its first medal at
the 2018 Winter Paralympics in Pyeongchang. Nordic para skier Sin Eui-hyun took the bronze
in the men’s 15-kilometer sitting cross-country… at the Alpensia Biathlon Centre. He came in third out of 27 skiers with a time
of 42 minutes 28-point-9 seconds. Sin’s is South Korea’s third medal in its
Winter Paralympic history, adding to the silver medals Korea won in 2002 and 2010. On the Games’ first day, South Korea’s hockey
and wheelchair curling teams got off to a good-start as well. The hockey team beat Japan 4 to 1, while the
curlers won both their matches against the United States and the Neutral Paralympic Athletes
from Russia.
