Ski & Snowboard Gear : Ski & Snowboard Footwear

We’re here today to talk about footwear, for
skiing and snowboarding. Obviously, well hopefully obviously by now, we want to avoid cotton
next to your skin. That’s going to be the number one thing that makes your feet cold,
by keeping moisture next to it. What I recommend, is one medium weight, wool blend sock, something
like you’re seeing here. Typically, these are a blend of wool and Lycra, so it fits
around your foot really well, without wrinkling, and it keeps your foot warm, the wool does.
They come in different thicknesses, from anything, from just the thinnest liner sock, which wicks
moisture away from your foot, to these thicker wool styles here. I’d say, of course there
is a variety of thicknesses, depending on your boot fit. If you have very tight boots,
you probably want to go with a thinner sock, and vice versa. If you have looser boots,
and then when it comes down to it, if it’s an extremely cold day, and you’re going to
be out there. They make toe warmers, and these, you just open up the package, expose it to
the air, and they stay warm for several hours, and it’s hard to get around these, when it’s
the truly coldest days, and that’s how I would recommend taking care of your feet, for skiing,
and snowboarding.
