Our Quality of Place | Northern Light Acadia Hospital

Every part of out planet
has it’s good parts, but Maine has four distinct seasons. Sledding and skiing out in the winter or going to one of our many
beaches in the summer. We have festivals, you
know, the Folk Festival, the Blues Festival. If you just take a walk,
you’re gonna find something that you like to do. I have a boat and a jet ski for the summer time, so it’s
usually spent out on the water, and in the winter time I race snowmobiles. Definitely plenty of
things to do outdoors. Bangor is really unique. I happen to live in the city, it takes me six minutes to get to work, there’s hardly any traffic,
it’s a very easy commute. And literally within 15 to 20 minutes, you are in the country. It’s very rural, so
there’s the best of both. It’s only two hours from Portland, four hours from Boston. Fredericton, New Brunswick
is just two hours away. Quebec City, Quebec, four hours away. We also have the
Waterfront Concert Series. The culture and the people are so amazing. And there’s a big mix of restaurants, so it’s not just Mexican,
it’s not just Chinese. It’s everything, it’s Thai, it’s Indian, something for everybody. Downtown’s great, there’s lots of pubs and music and fairs. And I like the surrounding area, I like Belfast, Acadia National Park. A lot of areas in Maine are beautiful. It’s a lovely place to live,
very high quality of life.
