Niseko Snow Report – 2019 12 06

It’s been snowing hard this week with up
to 20 centimetres of snow falling in the village on some nights. Three of the four
and Niseko United resorts are now open and we’re sure it won’t be long until
the rest of the resort starts opening up. Grand Hirafu was able to open yesterday
with lifts spinning at Ace Pair and Family-run. Niseko Village is also now
open and nearby resorts of Rusutsu has opened more terrain for riding. After a
day of rain earlier in the week we had heavy snowfall and cold blizzard
conditions around the area. The conditions have helped to push down the
vegetation allowing the snow to settle evenly on the slopes. Today we’ll have
light snowfall and wind which will continue into Saturday morning before a
brief blizzard hits on Saturday night bringing plenty of snow and cold
temperatures over the weekend with up to 23 centimeters due. Monday will be mostly
calm with light winds. On Tuesday the temperatures will rise with possible
sunshine during the early afternoon before temperatures start to drop again
on Wednesday night. With the top and bottom of the resort now open it feels
like the season is really starting to kick off. As more snow falls we’re
looking forward to more of the terrain opening up. In Niseko this is Al, with Niseko.com
