While more people are wearing bicycle helmets than before, the majority of helments are not being worn correctly. Therefore, they are unable to offer the rider full protection. First things first. Make sure your helmet
meets US government safety standards. Look for the CPSC sticker. Next take the
helmet fit test. make sure that when the helmet is on
your head that you should only fit one to two fingers between your eyebrows
and the top at the helmet. next make sure the straps form a ‘V’ under your ears when buckled. The straps should be a little tight. Open your mouth as wide as you can. Make sure that the helmet is tight but
not uncomfortable. Remember wear a helmet every time you
ride. You have one brain. Protect it. From Cape Fear Cyclists and Hanover County Health Department be
safe. Your health is our priority.
