Open Box Video Review of Erwin Rommel, Alpine Miniatures 1/16 (code: 16024) – Sculpted by Satoshi Tsujimura, Box Art by Dr. Jin Kim Alpine Miniatures (www.alpineminiatures.com) is an established figure company aimed to bring the very best figures to military modeller. From the start, Taesung Harms (sculptor & owner) set the quality levels very high, so we can enjoy some of the best military figures in 1/35 and in 1/16 scale ever produced. As with all Alpine Miniatures 1/16 figure kits we have all of the parts in a strong carton box that keep them safe in shipping In this video we will make an open box review, so you can have a first account by yourself what is in the box. A lot of these figures will be featured in the upcoming books of Mr Black Publications (www.mrblackpublications.com) Editions in the near future! The Erwin Rommel figure is one of the best we have ever seen in scale! The sculptor had captured all facial characteristics and the look of this famous personality of WWII. For sure this is an excellent depiction of this Great General! The figure kit has 10 pieces including two different head options! One of the heads is with plain officer’s cap and the other has a strap for the goggles if we choose to use them on the cap. Looking carefully you can see the high quality of the casting and the sculpting! Both of the heads have very realistic facial characteristics and the pose of the figure is very well done! Based on much seen historical photo of Rommel wearing this leather greatcoat. All of the pieces are clean without any flush so minimal clean up is needed and we just need to remove the casting blocks away. Be careful removing the blocks from the small parts. A good idea is to soften the small parts a little in hot water for a couple of minutes so the fragile small parts bend and not break when trying to remove them. Excellent depiction of the leather coat and leather boots. To sum up, this excellent 1/16 depiction of Erwin Rommel is another winner for Taesung Harmms and Alpine Miniatures!
