CARV Review | An Olympic Skier Reviews Carv

Hey, my name is Jeremy Bloom, I’m a
three-time world champion, two-time Olympic skier and I just completed my
first test of the Carv technology. Coming into the test, what really gravitated me towards Carv is you can get ski instruction at any time. You don’t
have to pay hundreds of dollars to get instruction, you can select a
virtual coach. You’re getting real-time feedback – we make a left turn and she’s
says 22 – you make a right turn she says 35 so you know in real time how much
edge you’re getting. On every turn one of my biggest question marks coming in was really the accuracy. I was blown away. When I was doing the test and my virtual
coach would recognize that based off the pressure points I wasn’t bending my
knees enough, he would remind me to bend my knees. What I found is I got
competitive with myself. Another big question mark coming in was: is there a
big instruction manual? Surprisingly, it was it was frictionless it was amazing! I got good coaching, I got good accurate
feedback – the same types of feedback that my coaches would give. I
want to do anything to help improve the experience for skiers. One of the things
I really like about what the Carv team is doing is they’re making it more
accessible – well all you need is a smart phone and the insole in the boot. You’re moving through progressions – level 1 to level 2
to level 3 you really feel like you’re playing a video game.
This technology has the opportunity to democratize the the entire industry. My
hope is with Carv and other pieces of technology that we can decrease the cost
for people to learn how to ski and enjoy the slopes.
